: Kerala Tourism's craft village constructed at Vellar, near the beach resort of Kovalam, at a cost of Rs. 7.20 crore was inaugurated by Minister for Home and Tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday. The village has been set up for procurement of locally-made handicraft and other curios, their display and sales to the visitors, especially tourists.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Balakrishnan said Kudumbasree had been entrusted the job of running the village.

George Mercier, MLA, presided.

Minister for Local Self-Government Paloli Mohammed Kutty received the agreement.
