Unidentified miscreants attacked the district committee office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Vidyanagar in the early hours of Tuesday.

It was suspected that two youths who came on a motorbike around 2 a.m. had pelted stones at the building named after the late Marxist leader A.K. Gopalan, smashing the front windowpanes of the building. Some party activists who were in the office saw the youths fleeing.

Senior party leaders, including district secretary K. P. Satheesh Chandran, C.H. Kunhambu, former MLA, visited the office and demanded that the culprits be arrested.
