The district conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) will be held at Vaikom from November 27 to 30.

As part of the conference, proclamation rallies will be taken out on Sunday from the K.K. Sreenivasan Memorial building at Mundakayam, the A.M. Kalyanakrishnan Nair Memorial building at Changanassery, the P.N. Karunkaran Nair Memorial building at Ponkunnam, and the Padmeshanan Nagar, and will all conclude at the Vaikom boat jetty ground. Party leader C.M. Thankappan will hoist the party flag on the occasion. Later on the day, social activist and writer Sukumar Azhikode will inaugurate the cultural meeting. Poet Alankode Leelakrishnan, party leader C.K. Chitrabhanu, and filmmaker Vinayan will speak on the occasion.

CPI State secretary C.K. Chandrappan will inaugurate the delegates' meet that will be held on Monday. K.E. Ismail, MP; E. Chandrasekaran M.L.A. and party leaders T. Purushothaman and K.R. Chandramohanan will participate.
