Thrissur: C.N. Jayadevan, the Communist Party of India candidate for the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat, will officially launch his campaign after Friday.
LDF meet on March 20
“The plan of action will be charted at the Left Democratic Front’s Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency election convention on March 20.
Following this, panchayat and booth-level conventions will be completed,” he said.
Even before the official launch of his campaign, Mr. Jayadevan has started meeting voters.
Mr. Jayadevan, CPI district secretary and member of the party’s State executive and council, is a native of Manalur. He was formerly All-India Students’ Federation State president (1982-85), chairman of the Block Development Council in Anthicaud (1987-91) and District Council vice-president (1990-92). He represented Ollur in the Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2001.
Son of C.S. Narayanan and P.K. Lakshmi, Mr. Jayadevan is an alumnus of the Guruvayur Sreekrishna College, Government Victoria College, Palakkad, and Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur.
A post-graduate in Malayalam literature, Mr. Jayadevan is the nephew of historian and former Deputy Speaker P.K. Gopalakrishnan.
Mr. Jayadevan’s wife, M.S. Rema Devi, teaches at the SNG Higher Secondary School at Karamukku. His sons, Deepak and Dinoop, are employed in the Gulf.
