KOZHIKODE: The on-campus online Central Counselling Board (CCB) counselling for admission to B.Tech./ B.Arch. programmes in 20 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other institutes admitting students through the AIEEE 2008 rank list will begin at NIT, Calicut (NIT-C), on July 4.

The NIT-C is the counselling centre for all candidates who have studied Plus Two or equivalent from Kerala, Lakshadweep and Kandive and for candidates who have studied abroad and have passports with permanent address in Kerala. The schedule is given on web site, www.ccb.nic.in.

Jessy John C., chairperson, UG admissions, NIT-C, said in a release here that admission to all the 20 NITs were based on the Central Counselling of AIEEE 2008 for candidates declared ‘Eligible for Central Counselling’ on the basis of the results of the AIEEE 2008 conducted by the CBSE. Candidates are advised to report at 8 a.m. at the CCB Counselling Centre, NIT-C.

Requirements

Candidates should bring the following: Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.15,000 in the name of ‘CCB’ payable at Allahabad for OP/OBC category of candidates and Rs.5,000 in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category of candidates and originals of the following documents: (a) Admit Card of AIEEE 2008 (b) AIR Card issued by the CBSE, indicating the rank in AIEEE-2008 (c) Class X (High School) Board certificate as proof of date of birth (d) Plus Two mark list and pass certificate (e) Category certificate, if applicable, for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Communities category of candidates (f) Passport to prove the state of eligibility of candidates who have studied abroad only (g) Certificate for Physically handicapped as per AIEEE norms (if applicable); and two copies of the documents stated above.

Candidates who report for on-campus counselling and have successfully locked their choices have to download the allotment letter, if any, from the CCB web site and report to the institution allotted to them before July 20, 2008.
