A section of residents of Makkaparambu laid siege to the residence of Corporation councillor Seena Gokul demanding steps to solve the water logging in the subway constructed in the area.

The protest that started on Thursday night extended to the early hours of Friday. Later, police shifted the councillor to a city hospital as she complained of uneasiness. Police also arrested around 100 persons who picketed the road at Punnakkal junction in support of the agitation.
