The Mohanlal and Fahadh Fazil starrer Red Wine has already recovered its production cost through the sale of satellite and overseas rights, its director Salam Bapu has said.
“The good response at the theatres only contributed to its profit,” he added.
Speaking t ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised by the Press Club here on Friday, the debut director maintained that the star value of Mohanlal and Fahadh had contributed to a great extent in ensuring monetary returns to its producer.
He said he was able to rein in the production cost and that too played an important role in making the movie economically viable.
“That I was able to complete the shoot in 42 days, three days ahead of schedule, was an achievement in itself,” said Mr. Bapu, who held that cost control in a judicious way was key to the success of any movie.
