PALAKKAD: The proper functioning of the district boards during 1954-'57 helped the Communists come to power for the first time in 1957.
Inaugurating a State conference of the P.T. Bhaskara Panikkar Balashastra here on Friday, the then district board secretary K. Unnikrishna Warrier said that the achievements of the Board headed by the late P.T. Bhasakara Panikkar in Malabar garnered the support of the people.
R.V.G. Menon, environmental scientist, delivered the P.T. Bhasakara Panikkar memorial lecture.
P. Jayapala Menon presided over the meeting. It was addressed by P.T.B. Trust secretary Indanur Gopi and secretary V.R.V. Ezhom.
