KOCHI: IGNIZ 07, a techno-cultural festival organised by the SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, got off to a colourful start here on Thursday.

Hundreds of students from various campuses across the State converged on the SCMS campus at Muttom to participate in the three-day event.

Inaugurating the programme, Chairman and Managing Director of V-Guard Kochouseph Chittilappilly exhorted the youth to improve their knowledge level in all areas. “Hard work alone would not help you achieve success. It should be supported with knowledge. Improve your skills,” he said.

Urging the student community to be more creative, Mr. Chittilappilly said that engineering colleges are the cradle of creative minds. “Today’s youth is really lucky to have got several opportunities. The popular adage ‘slow and steady wins the race’ has given way to ‘fast and steady wins the race.’ Always try to finish your target early,” he said.

Encouraging the youngsters to take risks in life, Mr. Chittilappilly said that failure is always the stepping stone to success.
