THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaker K. Radhakrishnan assured Mankode Radhakrishnan, MLA from the Communist Party of India, in the Assembly on Wednesday that his complaint relating to a road accident involving his car and a bus in the capital city some days ago would be proceeded with only after a detailed inquiry by the City Police Commissioner.

Responding to a personal explanation offered by Mr. Radhakrishnan, the Speaker said the matter would be looked into seriously before further action was taken.

Earlier, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told the member that he would ask the City Police Commissioner to inquire into his complaint that the bus of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation rammed the left side of his car owing to negligent driving by the bus driver who falsely accused him of having assaulted him.

‘Falsely accused'

Mr. Radhakrishnan earlier told the House that he was falsely accused of having assaulted the driver even after the latter had rammed the bus into the car damaging the whole of its left side.

An assistant sub-inspector, who was present on the scene, had stopped the bus and the driver had actually apologised to him for the incident, the MLA said.
