The ‘Childline Se Dosthi,' a week-long campaign to sensitise the public on the functioning of the Childline Centre, began in the district on Thursday.

The campaign is being organised in association with several government departments and organisations. As part of the campaign, film star baby Esther tied the ‘Childline Se Dosthi' band on the wrists of District Collector T. Bhaskaran; district panchayat president K.L. Poulose, Superintendent of Police G. Spurjankumar, and Additional Divisional Magistrate K. Vijayan at a function at the collectorate.

Municipal chairperson A.P. Hameed inaugurated the programmes in connection with the campaign at the Madakkunnu tribal colony at Maniyankode. Painting contests and an open house for tribal children will be held as part of the campaign, C.K. Dineshkumar, Childline district coordinator, said.
