: Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Wednesday dedicated a new ship ‘m.v.Lakshadweep Sea' to the people of Lakshadweep at a function held at Kavaratti, the administrative headquarters of Lakshadweep. The all-weather ship will ease the transportation problems faced by the islanders. The function was attended by large number of people. The Minister also attended meetings with heads of departments of the Lakshadweep Administration and public representatives where a review of all developmental activities was taken, official sources said.

He also flagged off an interceptor boat at a public function at Kavaratti. The function was attended by J.K. Dadoo, Administrator of Lakshadweep; Hamdulla Sayeed, Member of Parliament; P.P. Koya, former MP; other public representatives and senior officers. — Staff Reporter
