KANNUR: The State-level chess competitions will begin at Mattannur on April 30 under the aegis of the Kerala Chess Association for the Blind. A release here on Monday said that the competition, being held in cooperation with the Mattannur Jayakerala, was being organised to select participants in the South Indian-level competition. Nearly 70 people from eight districts in the State would participate. The event would be inaugurated by K.K. Shylaja, MLA. It would continue till May 3. — Special Correspondent
