Row over construction on ‘puramboke' land.

ALAPPUZHA: Seven municipal councillors, including three women, were injured after a regular meeting of the Cherthala Municipal Council ended up in fisticuffs. The Congress and CPI (M) councillors clashed over the construction of a shed on ‘puramboke' land near the Cherthala bus-stand by the CITU. Both sides have given differing versions of the clash, claiming that the other side had begun the fight.

The injured have been admitted to the Cherthala Taluk Hospital.
