Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday inaugurated a new building at CMS School here.

The new block was built at a cost of Rs.1.30 crore by NRI businessman and alumnus of the school C.K. Menon.

Speaking after inaugurating the building the Chief Minister said Mr. Menon was a model for others in social service. Such generous services would encourage more and more people to come forward to contribute to the development of the country, he said. Minister for Cooperation C.N. Balakrishnan presided over the function. P.C. Chacko MP, Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA, Mayor I.P Paul, C.K. Menon, his wife Jayasree Menon and others participated.

A get-together of the alumni (between 1955 and 1964) of CMS School was held after the function. Addressing the function, P.C. Chacko, MP, said a digital library and computer would be allotted to the school from the MP fund. A caricature show by Jayaraj Warrier was held after the inauguration.
