The youth festival organised by the Kerala CBSE School Managements’ Association would be held at Gokulam Public School, Vadakara, from November 21-23. Over 800 schools will participate in the regional-level competitions that would be held prior to the event. Entry forms have been sent to the schools, said T.P.M. Ibrahim Khan, association president.

Rare book collection

Meghna Vaishnavi, a Standard VIII student of Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tiruvamkulam, won a cash award of Rs 500 for her display of 300 books at the children’s book exhibition organised by the International Book Festival Committee.

These included a few rare collections of thaliolas (palm-leaf manuscript).

Wins swimming prize

Elizabeth Thadikkaran, a student of Choice School, Thripunithura, bagged four gold medals and two silvers in the CBSE south zone swimming competitions held at Davangere, Karnataka.

Exhibition on ecology

The annual science exhibition of Greets Public School, Kochi, was inaugurated by Narayana Kurup, former acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.

The exhibition was based on the topic ‘ecological crisis’.

Drawing competition

The 16th house-plan drawing competition for school students, organised by the Yasoram Charitable Trust, would be held from 10 am on November 9 at the Yasoram building on Convent Road, Kochi.

Basketball tournament

The IVth All-Kerala Inter-School Mini Basketball Tournament was inaugurated by international basketball player Sunny Thomas at Nava Nirman Public School, Kochi.

The school also played host to the Graham Stuart Staines Memorial Sports Quiz and Triathlon.
