: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct further investigations in the SNC-Lavalin case in the light of the allegations made by Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan.

Inaugurating a district conference of the Janasree Sustainable Development Mission here on Friday, he said the CBI should take evidence from Mr. Achuthanandan. He said the CPI(M) veteran had stated that “he was dismissed from his party’s Polit Bureau for telling the truth. But the CPI (M)’s internal inquiry commission report said Mr. Achuthanandan, as Chief Minister, had tried to influence the Chief Justice to implicate party State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan who was the Electricity Minister during the deal. These are not the internal affairs of a party, but the question of corruption.”
