IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will organise a national workshop on martial art forms of Kerala and north-east India at Kozhikode on November 6 and 7. The event will be held at S. K. Pottekad Cultural Centre.

The programme is being jointly organised by IGNOU Institute for Vocational Education and Training, Shillong and IGNOU Regional Centre, Kochi. R. S. Mooshahary, Governor of Meghalaya, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Mullappally Ramachandran, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, will deliver the special address while V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, will preside.

The main objective of the programme is to explore the rich cultural heritage of the country and emphasise the need to preserve rare art forms in the changing social milieu of the country.Contact: 0484-2340203/ 2533021.

Kerala is truly capitalising on its geographical attributes and transforming itself into a silicon coast through focused initiatives in IT infrastructure development, HR development and citizen e-enablement, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Chief Executive Officer of Infopark, has said. Speaking at the technology week programmes held at the Cusat on Tuesday, Mr. Bhattacharya said that the State provides a range of attractive economic benefits to the companies operating within the framework of Kerala IT.

The objective of the technology week is to provide in-depth understanding of emerging IT trends.
