UIT Centre: The centre of the University Institute of Technology (UIT) set up at Kottarakkara will be inaugurated by Education Minister M.A. Baby on October 6.

The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Kottarakkara.

Examination dates: The university has announced fresh dates for the examinations scheduled on September 30.

The first semester LLM examinations will be held on October 10; B.Com. supplementary examinations — October 14; second-year LLB (five-year-Additional (mercy chance) examinations — October 20; final year B.A. supplementary examinations (part three main) — October 29; first year LLB (three-year) examinations and the third year LLB (five-year mercy chance, 1998 admission) — November 3.

There is no change in the examination centres and timings.

B.Sc. Practical: The practical of the fourth semester B.Sc. Botany and Biotechnology (restructured and vocational) examinations will be held from 9.30 a.m. on October 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 29 and 30.

The detailed timetable can be had from the respective centres.

Computer Application: The practical of the second semester B.Com. Computer Application (three main) examinations will be held on October 13 and 15.

The examinations will begin at 10 a.m.

M.Phil. entrance: The entrance examination for admission to the M.Phil course (2008) at the Department of Chemistry will begin at 11 a.m. on October 13.

Those who have not yet submitted the mark list of the qualifying examination and candidates from other universities who have not submitted the eligibility certificates must do so before October 13.

The entrance examination for admission to the M. Phil course (2008-09) at the Department of Tamil will be held at 10 a.m on October 15.

M.Sc. Biotechnology: The results of the fourth semester M.Sc. Biotechnology (2006 admission) examinations have been published. Applications for revaluation and scrutiny can be submitted till October 30.

MLISC: The results of the credit and semester MLISC course examinations (2006-08) have been published.

Inter-collegiate competitions: The inter collegiate (inter-zone) chess competitions (boys and girls) will be held on October 6 and 7 at the University stadium.

The south zone football (boys) competition will be held at St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, on October 6 and 7 and the handball (boys and girls) competitions will be held at University College on October 13, 14 and 15.

The wrestling (boys) competition will be held at the LNCPE, Kariavattom, on October 23, volleyball (girls) competition at NSS College, Karamana, on October 20 and 21 and the basketball competition (boys) at Marian Engineering College, Kazhakuttam, on October 20, 21 and 22.

The team selection trials for the inter-university competitions will also be held along with these competitions.
