Procession will be taken out to announce the campaign

    KOZHIKODE: The Dayapuram Cultural Forum will organise an eight-day campaign against communalism and fundamentalism. The campaign will be held at Dayapuram, near Chathamangalam, in the district from Tuesday.

    The slogan of the campaign will be `Resist communal and fundamentalist activities and save Kerala.' The campaign will include various programmes targeted at students and the public to make them aware of conflict in the name of religion and caste.

    A procession to announce the campaign will be taken out on Tuesday morning. A seminar to be attended by religious scholars will be held on Wednesday. They include Hussain Madavur, T.P. Abdullakoya Madhani, Abdusamad Pookottur, Hussain Randathani, V. Abdulla Umari and K.M. Shaji.

    Essay and elocution contests for students and story and poem writing contests will be held in the following days.

    Critic Sukumar Azhikode will inaugurate a cultural conference on November 28, marking the conclusion of the campaign.

    Swami Golokananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Kozhikode, Fr. Joseph Vayalil, Principal, St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, and C.T. Abdurahim, executive secretary, Al-Islam Charitable Trust, which runs the Dayapuram Group of Education Institutions, will speak on the occasion.
