T.A. Ahamed Kabeer, MLA, has called upon Mapila artistes to do a social introspection and to make use of the art for the benefit of the society in view of the changing times.

He was inaugurating a camp titled ‘Ishal Peruma 2013’ organised by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board here on Thursday.

Malappuram block panchayat president T.T. Koyamu presided. Morayur panchayat president Bangalath Sakeena spoke. Mapilapattu scholar Balakrishnan Vallikkunnu and lyricist O.M. Karuvarakundu led different sessions.

Mapilapattu expert Faizal Elettil led the camp.
