Kochi: The Kerala chapter of Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) celebrated World Plumbing Day on Thursday with a seminar on ‘Green Plumbing'.

B.R. Ajit, chairman of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Kerala, who was the chief guest and Lalichan Zacharias, chairman of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Kerala, who was the guest of honour, felicitated IPA for its efforts in bringing professionalism to plumbing trade.

Earlier, P. Ramachandran, IPA Kerala chairman, in his welcome speech, said that March 11 was designated by the World Plumbing Council as a day for the plumbing industry to reaffirm its commitment to adopting technically correct sustainable methods for plumbing installation.

John Joseph, Managing Director, M/s John Mech-EI Technologies, Mumbai, spoke on various conservation techniques like low-flow fixtures and reuse of water that help conserve energy and water.

Siva Iyer, honorary secretary of IPA Kerala, proposed a vote of thanks.
