CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has called for a unified struggle in order to preserve the secular fabric of the State.

Inaugurating the party’s Pala area committee office here on Thursday, Mr. Vijayan said that various communal outfits operating within the State were being allowed to function without any hindrance.

While the Congress has stuck to its familiar tendency of appeasing minority sections, various other forces have forged alliances along communal lines. Such efforts that could create rifts within the society must be countered by the public with unity, he said.
