A conference on ‘India as a global health destination: opportunities and challenges,’ organised by the Department of Hospital Administration at Calicut University’s Dr. John Matthai Centre here recently, called for quality control measures in hospitals.

Collector P.M. Francis inaugurated the conference.

The conference stated that safe, high-quality care should be provided to all patients.

“A culture of safety should be promoted through a collaborative effort by physicians, nurses, researchers, medical students and technicians,” speakers said. School of Management Studies coordinator K.P Muraleedaran presided. Present on the occasion were additional coordinator V.M. Xavier; Babu Anto, head of the department of Information Technology, Kannur University; experts in the healthcare sector Harish Manian, Prathap Varkey, B.G. Menon, Byju Ponthempilly; and Krithika Simon, convener of the conference.
