: Kerala Minister for Industries and Information Technology P.K. Kunhalikutty on Friday declared the University of Calicut as the State’s first digital university.

Addressing a function on the university campus, Mr. Kunhalikutty said the government’s aim was to equip youth with skills to manage any kind of job arising from anywhere in the world.

He said digitization would be extended to other academic institutions in such a manner as to benefit the teachers and students. He also inaugurated the VIP Guest House and a national management conference.

Vice-Chancellor M. Abdul Salam inaugurated the digital signature on degree certificates.

Pro Vice-Chancellor K. Raveendranath inaugurated the online fee payment system of the university.

Students can now pay their examination and other fee from anywhere in the world.

K. Mohammedunni Haji, MLA, laid the foundation stone for the fourth phase development of Calicut University Institute of Engineering Technology.
