Vijayan, convener of an ad-hoc committee that worked for the genesis of the alumni body, said that the organization would go functional from Saturday with new office-bearers at the helm. The formation of the Alumni Association, which would have membership strength of thousands, would mark the 40th anniversary celebrations of Calicut University.
