Kozhikode: The annual mango festival organised by Calicut Agri-Horticultural Society will be inaugurated on Wednesday at Gandhi Park here by District Collector A. Jayathilak. The show will be on till May 4.

Mangoes that can be eaten by diabetics and those named by Mughal kings after their children would be among the exhibits. About 100 varieties will be on show. Saplings of mango trees suitable for cultivation in the State will be put up for sale. A highlight will be a mango eating contest which will be held on May 3 at 4 p.m. at Gandhi Park.
