THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Commandant K. Janardanan has been selected for the Coast Guard Thad Raksha Medal for the meritorious service in Coast Guard Protection Force. He is Joint Director, Coast Guard Protection Force, in New Delhi. He has been given this award for the hard work he did in connection with the production of small and medium ships for Coast Guard. Explosives seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Aryankode police seized explosive materials, including 20 bundles of detonators, from a car near Aankode on Friday afternoon. According to the police, the explosives were meant for use in a quarry in the area. Assumes charge

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nirmala Pillai, a senior Administrative Grade Officer of the India P & T Accounts and Finance Service (Group A), has assumed charge in Thiruvananthapuram as the Controller of Communications Accounts, Kerala, under the Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communications and IT. She will be in charge of realisation and accounting of revenue in the form of licence fee and royalty for use of spectrum from all basic/cellular services operators in Kerala and Lakshadweep. - Staff Reporter
