Social activist deadKOLLAM: Social activist and founder member of the INTUC in south Travancore, Abu Mohammed, passed away here in the afternoon on Monday. He was 82 and is survived by his wife and eight children. Mohammed and also played a leading role in the Vimochana Samaram.

Church council to go ahead with admissionsKOTTAYAM: The Inter Church Council for Education has decided to move ahead with the admissions and functioning of the professional colleges this year, as per court directives. A meeting of the Council in Changanassery on Monday asked the State Government to expedite steps to ensure smooth functioning of the institutions so that studies of students would not be jeopardised.
