The Kochi Corporation will not give approval for demolishing the North Overbridge for the Metro Rail project, unless alternative systems are in place for diverting traffic and the traders displaced from the area are rehabilitated.

This was decided at the council meeting held here on Tuesday. The resolution moved by K.J. Sohan, chairman of Town Planning CommitteeN. Venugopal said that the Corporation was kept in the dark about the proposed demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.
