Results of engineering entrance out
Boys have bagged most of the top ranks in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2013, the rank list of which was published on Tuesday.
Boys claimed all the top 10 positions, calculated through a standardisation process, with equal weightage given to the score obtained in the entrance examination for engineering held on April 20 and 23 and the grade/ marks obtained for science subjects in the Plus Two or equivalent qualifying examination.
The first rank went to Albin Jose George from Kottayam (Roll no.141681), with Srihari R. from Kochi (161118) and Sivaprasad S. from Thrissur (165092) bagging the second and third places respectively. The other top seven rank winners are 4. Sanjay K. Sunny, Kottayam (142792); 5. Pranav V, Thiruvananthapuram (113211); 6. Kasyap V. Karun, Kozhikode (207565); 7. Arun Varghese, Ernakulam (162347); 8. Mohammed Nishad M., Malappuram (193933); 9. Akhil Ashok, Thrissur (157414) and 10. Shibin Hamza A, Malappuram (209141). Aswin Rajeevan, Kannur (rank no.351) came first and Nandu Sivadasan, Kochi (rank no.354) emerged second in the Scheduled Caste category. In the ST category, Elma Varghese, Kottayam (rank 5874) was the first and Rahul M.R., Wayanad (rank 6774), the second.
Ernakulam district, with 8,146, has the highest number of candidates on the rank list. Of the first 100 rank winners, 93 are boys. Of the 74,226 candidates who qualified in the engineering entrance examination, 58,169 including 31,239 boys and 26,930 girls made it to the rank list.
The results are available at the office of the commissioner for entrance examinations and can be accessed on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in
Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb said the allotment process for admission to engineering and architecture and medical courses except MBS/ BDS would commence on June 21. The first allotment would be on July 3.
