Leading jewellery retail chain Malabar Gold and Diamonds has signed Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor as its brand ambassador. “Kareena Kapoor symbolises contemporary India and represents the emerging youth of this country. Her presence in our communication will enhance our brand equity and help us to move seamlessly into the northern Indian market, which is our focus for the coming years,” said M.P. Ahammed, chairman of Malabar Group at the signing ceremony. He said Malabar Gold and Diamonds would open 40 outlets in the coming months and out of this 20 would be in north India. The first showroom in Mumbai would be opened on April 7, followed by one at Rajkot in Gujarat on April 14 and another at Kurla in Mumbai by April end. By May and June, the chain would establish presence in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Gurgaon.
