A march was organised by the Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union (BKMU) to the Collectorate here on Thursday.

It demanded a monthly pension of Rs.1,000 and land and houses for the landless agriculture workers in the State.

The march was inaugurated by K.E. Haneefa, national joint secretary of the BKMU. The meeting was presided over by P.V. Kannappan, district president.

It was addressed by State vice-president of the All India Trade Union Congress C. Jayapalan and BKMU district secretary T. Sidharthan, among others. They called upon the government to consider their demands.
