Two rebel leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and their supporters were welcomed to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at a function in Panur here on Tuesday.

CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, in his inaugural address at the function at the Panur High School grounds, said O.K. Vasu and A. Ashokan and their supporters who had left the BJP would henceforth be part of the CPI(M) as they had expressed their willingness to cooperate with the party.

Mr. Vasu and Mr. Ashokan functioned as district president and district secretary respectively of the BJP.
