: Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has warned against attempts by community leaders to create new communal divides in the State.

Inaugurating a seminar on the contemporary relevance of Sree Narayana Guru’s teachings, organised to mark the 125{+t}{+h}anniversary of the installation of Siva idol at Aruvippuram here on Thursday, Mr. Vijayan said the emergence of ideas such as Hindu unity and Hindu league should be viewed with concern.

Such ideas were meant only to create new communal divides in the State, he said.

Mr. Vijayan pointed out that one dangerous consequence of this was the open adoption of anti-minority stance by several of these community leaders.
