Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 1,500 students from 21 Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan schools across the State will compete for honours in the All-Kerala Bhavan's Youth Festival beginning here on November 24. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Kodunganoor, near here, will host the two-day event. Chairman of the festival committee K. Sankaran Nair and Principal M.S. Suseelan told a press conference here on Wednesday that competitions would be held in five categories for 77 individual items and eight group items. Apart from the overall championship, the toppers in the boy's and girl's category will be awarded the `Bhavan's Prathibha' and `Bhavan's Jyoti' title.

Law Minister M. Vijayakumar will inaugurate the festival at 2 p.m. on November 24. Chief Secretary Lizzie Jacob will be the chief guest at the valedictory function on November 25. Mr. Suseelan said traditional art forms would be the thrust of the festival.
