The State-level inauguration of the Archaeology Department’s archaeology and heritage museums will be done by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on March 2.

The meeting will be presided over by Culture Minister K.C. Joseph and the public meeting will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution K.V. Thomas.

The Bastion Bungalow in Fort Kochi will be converted into a museum. 

The bungalow is an architectural splendour, built in 1667 by the Portuguese in the Indo-European style.

A multimedia centre also will be set up along with the museum. District Collector P.I. Sheikh Pareeth, executive director of Kerala Museums S. Raymond and others will speak.
