: Bank employees will hold a nationwide strike on December 20 in protest against the Bank Privatisation Bill. A release issued by the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) said
the strike was in protest against the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, which would set a long-term adverse effect on the national economy.
The strike is against the move to enact the Banking
Regulation Act which was moved in Parliament and is supported by corporates within the nation and outside.
The BEFI called upon the people to support the strike against the government move to scuttle the people’s banking system and to surrender crores of rupees to foreign corporates.
