Ban in three districts during Thiruvabharanam procession

A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Friday banned sale of Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquor or any other form of liquor in the revenue villages of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Alappuzha districts when the Thiruvabharanam procession would be taken out through these places.

The Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A.V. Ramakrishnan Pillai said that at Pandalam, the ban would start at 6 a.m. on January 12. The procession would start from Pandalam at 1 p.m. that day.

The High Court made it clear that the prohibition would start six hours ahead of the anticipated time of arrival or passing of the Thiruvabharanam procession.
