Says its activities catalysing State's progress
PALAKKAD: Electricity Minister A.K. Balan has said the Kudumbasree Mission that helped in the empowerment of women in the State prepared them to face any situation life.
Inaugurating the Kudumbasree's ‘a bank at the doorstep' scheme in Kuthanoor grama pachayat on Tuesday, the Minister said the Mission helped women face any hard reality and take up jobs with pride. He described it as a great social revolution taking place in the State.
Mr. Balan said the Kudumbasree boosted women's self-confidence and working capacity, thereby catalysing the State's progress.
The Minister distributed Rs.20 lakh given by the Backward Class Development Corporation for Kudumbasree units as part of implementing the new banking system. Kuthanoor grama panchayat president Leela Balan presided over the meeting. At another function in the panchayat, the Minister inaugurated the Pezhumcode Drinking Water Supply Scheme. C.K. Sudhakaran, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, presented the report on the scheme at the function.
