KOZHIKODE: Freedom fighter Moulana Abul Kalam Azad was remembered on his 120th birth anniversary here on Tuesday.

Former Minister A.C. Shanmughadas spoke of the contributions of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad at a programme organised by the Forestry Board. Mr. Shanmughadas said Kalam was a scholar who played a key role during a crucial period in the country’s freedom struggle — from 1940 to 1946.

Forestry Board chairman M. Rajan presided.

A.K. Saseendran, MLA and DCC president K.C. Abu, among others, were present at the programme organised at the Martyrs column on the beach.
