A gathering of former students of the Sports Division of the Kannur Government Vocational Higher Secondary School here will be held on October 7 as part of the programmes to mark the 150th anniversary of the school.

Olympian P.T. Usha, who studied in the first batch of the sports division (1976) here, would participate in the gathering, organising committee office-bearers said at a press conference here on Thursday.

They said that over half of the nearly 2000 students who completed their high school and higher secondary courses in the school were employed with various institutions under the sports quota.

Coaches too

Among the sports personalities who are expected to participate in the gathering were Bobby Aloysius, K.M. Greeshma, K.C. Lekha, Sharmi Ulahannan, Anu Marium Jose, V. Soumya, P.S. Jeena and R. Anu. Coaches and trainers including O.M. Nambiar would also participate. The athletes and coaches would be honoured at the function.

Organising committee office-bearers O.K. Vineesh, K.M. Vasudevan Namboodiri and K.C. Rajan were among those present at the press meet.
