Thiruvananthapuram: The Trivandrum Residents Apex Council (TRAC) has urged Electricity Minister A.K. Balan and the Kerala State Electricity Board to take up the construction of a hydroelectric project at Athirappilly.

A press note quoting TRAC president Amaravila Ramakrishnan Nair and general secretary K.T. Roy said the project had become inevitable in view of the steadily rising power consumption in the State.
