M.B. Rajesh, MP, said in a statement here on Sunday that the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Piyush Agarwal, had assured him about considering the demand for stops for Kerala Express and Dhanbad Express at Ottappalam railway station.
The DRM said the MEMU services would soon be launched from Palakkad to connect Kochi and other cities, Mr. Rajesh said.
The DRM said he would look into the demands for a stop for the Nilambur-Thiruvanathapuram Rajyarani Express at Vallapuzha; a third air-conditioned coach in Amritha Express; and a ramp to connect railway platforms at the Palakkad railway junction to help the old and the physically challenged passengers, the MP said.
The DRM promised to take up the construction of an over-bridge at Nadakkavu if the State government agreed to share the cost of construction, the MP said.
