Thiruvananthapuram: The Aryankode police have registered a case on Monday against a 30-year-old woman on the charge that she assaulted a seven-year-old boy who is her son's classmate.
The police identified the accused as Shiela. The case is that Shiela had assaulted Manoj, Class II student of Mylachal Higher Secondary School, on the school premises during lunch break. The police said Manoj and Shiela's son, Vigil Alex, had a fight on their way to school. The alleged assault took place on January 13. The police have charged Shiela with causing hurt under section 323 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code.
A 28-year-old man, identified as Suni alias Khader, of Ambalathara, died allegedly after consuming pesticide. The body has been kept in the mortuary of Medical College Hospital.
In two separate incidents on Sunday night, more than Rs.400 was reportedly stolen from offering boxes located near a mosque and Sree Narayana Guru Statue in Pachallur.
