Efforts by a group of artists to draw attention to the plight of victims of endosulfan is proving to be a big draw in the city.

The campaign, centred around a statue, erected in Kaloor, calls for the immediate ban on endosulfan and rehabilitation for its victims. The campaign has been organised by T. D. Biju, Liju George, Antoney, Samad Chaliyar, Pratheesh, Joshi and Stephen Rozario, all of them artists working with Ameya Communications, Kaloor. A spokesman for Ameya Communications said that the statue was erected to draw the people's attention to the bad impact of endosulfan on people's health and on the environment and to force the authorities to support the victims of endosulfan.
