Thiruvananthapuram: The India IT Summit 2009 beginning here on December 10 will have a galaxy of leading industry experts as key speakers.

Some industry leaders who are expected to address various sessions at the summit include Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO & MD, Infosys Technologies; Vic Bhagat, CIO, GE Corporate; Jeby Cherian, Director, Strategy, IBM India; and Sajan Pillai, CEO, UST Global.

The two-day conference, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry along with the Kerala government, will have ‘Changing Role of India in Global IT Business’ as the main theme. The speakers will deliberate on issues pertaining to the IT sector with reference to the user industry.

The plenary sessions planned for the conference will discuss the changing role of IT from supporting to that of transforming.

Each speaker brings with him a great amount of experience in the IT industry and we are sure the event will be able to bring out some great thoughts and plans to enhance the Indian IT industry further and lay emphasis on boosting investment in Kerala,” Sanjaya Mariwala, Chairman, CII Kerala State Council, said.

The event will provide a platform for the user industry from small and medium enterprises, large manufacturing companies, service sector players such as hospitals, insurance and finance companies, hotels, banks, educational institutions, consultants, industry and management associations to know about the latest trends and innovations that can be deployed in their businesses.

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan is scheduled to inaugurate the summit at The Leela, Kovalam. Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor; Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac; Chief Secretary Neela Gangadharan; N Krishnan, Director General, STPI; and Ajay Kumar, IT Principal Secretary, will speak.
