KALPETTA: Fourteen persons have been selected for the Pazhassi Raja Kingly Puraskar 2009-10, instituted by the Pazhassiraja Charitable Trust, Kozhikode.

The Puraskar carries a memento and a certificate.

The awardees are Amruthananda Mayi Devi Mut (Dharma Ghadgum or the Sword of Justice); Shashi Tharoor, Union Minister of State for External Affairs (Sarva Deshiya Prathibha); K. Radhakrishnan, ISRO chairman (Shasthra Ratna); Balamuralikrishna, (Sangeetha Ratna); Ratan Tata, industrialist (Vyavasaya Ratna); Amitabh Bachchan (Abhinaya Chakravarthi); C.M. Ibrahim (Rashtriya Prathibha); Simon Varghese Parakadath (Pravasi Ratna); Chenas Dinesh Namboothiri (Achary Ratna); Jaim Abraham, (Vaidya Bhooshan); K.C. Abraham (Vyavasaya Prathibha); Mohammed Niyas, (Yuva Pravasi Prathibha); R.K. Ramesh (Nirman Prathibaha); and Hariharan (Drushya Kala Puraskar).

The awards will be presented in New Delhi in February 2010. The Puraskars were declared by H.H. Pazhassi Ravi Varma Raja at Mananthavadi on Monday.
