A three-day camp will be organised in May to give follow-up training for the students

THALASSERY: Talented students selected through an examination will be distributed scholarships instituted by the Sardar Chandroth Educational Research Foundation (SCERF) under the Sardar Chandroth Memorial Trust (SCMT).

SCERF president P.K. Gowri said here on Sunday that magician Gopinath Muthukad would inaugurate the scholarship distribution function at the Sangamam auditorium here at 3 p.m. on April 13. K. Sudhakaran, MP, would preside over the function.

Former Education Minister T.M. Jacob would distribute scholarships to students at the function.

She said merit certificates for the 319 students selected through zonal level examinations conducted by the trust and cash awards of Rs. 2000 each for

15 students would also be distributed at the function. Thalassery municipal chairman K.P. Raveendran would present a special memento to the Sacred Heart Girls High School here for the highest participation in the examination, she said.

A three-day camp would be organised in May first week to give follow-up training for the talented students, she said, adding that the camp would include entertainment, information and personality development.


The students who were selected for the scholarships are: T. Abhay, Theertha S. Vasan, Hitheshwar Prasad, Achaldeep, Justina Joy (upper primary category), Namitha Manohar, N.S. Sheethal, R. Akshaynath, R. Rahulnath, P. Deepak (Class VIII and IX), K.K. Akshay, Nina Valsan, P. Abhina, P. Sruthi and Ajay Pavithran (Class X).
