Initially, the college will offer various degree courses

A report regarding opening of the college will be submitted to Education Minister by April 12

ALAPPUZHA: The Ambalapuzha Government Arts and Science College, for which the State government gave approval in the recent budget, will begin functioning in August this year, Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran has said.


In a press release issued here on Thursday after a meeting with Education Minister M.A. Baby at Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Sudhakaran said it was decided that the college, a long-standing demand of the region, would initially offer courses in BA (economic science and communicative English), B.Com., B.B.A. and B.Sc. (mathematics).

The college will require 12 acres. For the time being, it will function from the premises of the K.K. Kunchu Pillai Memorial Higher Secondary School here.

A project report regarding the opening of the college and the site would be submitted to Mr. Baby by April 12 by K.P. Satheeshan, the special officer designated for the college, Mr. Sudhakaran said.
